Are gutter guards worth it?

On a wooded lot or a two-story home, almost always — the guard costs less over ten years than the cleanings, and a gutter that stays clear is a gutter that doesn't feed ice dams. On a treeless ranch, we'll tell you to skip them.

5-inch or 6-inch?

We calculate it from your roof's drainage area and pitch instead of guessing. Large or steep roofs shed water faster than 5" can carry — that's when 6" with oversized downspouts earns its cost.

Do new gutters stop ice dams?

They fix the gutter half of the problem — clean, pitched, free-draining eaves. The attic-heat half belongs to the roof system; if you have chronic dams, ask us to look at both while we're there.

How long does installation take?

Most homes: one day, including tear-off and haul-away.

Should I do gutters with my new roof?

It's the best time — the old gutters come down for the roof anyway, fascia is exposed for inspection, and the bundle prices better than two separate jobs.
